We are seeking experienced Immigration Solicitors / Immigration Caseworkers with relevant experience of at least 2 years and a client following.

ABOUT THE APPLICANT

Right to Work in the UK

  • The applicant must have the right to work in the UK as an ‘employee’.
  • Unfortunately, the position is not open to those whose work activities in the UK have been limited to ‘self-employed’ only due to legal compliance.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

The applicant:

  • must demonstrate integrity and be fully compliant with professional and ethical rules.
  • must have experience of at least 2 years in providing advice and representation in immigration matters (including complex immigration matters), demonstrating considerable legal experience and a detailed understanding in relation to preparing immigration applications for individuals and businesses.
  • must have a client following.
  • must possess detailed and up to date knowledge of UK Immigration Law with an ability and willingness to learn and develop.
  • must have a strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain relevant legal or procedural information in language that is succinct, clear and readily understood by lay clients.
  • must have strong legal research skills and must demonstrate a strong ability to assimilate and clarify information in terms of being able to identify and focus on the real issues without being lost in irrelevant detail and being able to apply appropriate legal rules and principles to the relevant facts.
  • must demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
  • must possess the ability to prioritise appropriately and effectively, work at speed and under pressure and undertake necessary preparatory work.
  • in addition to being able to work independently with minimal supervision, must be able to work constructively with others, to encourage co-operation and collaboration when needed, to treat people with respect, sensitivity and in a fair manner without discrimination, and to ensure the requirements of those with differing needs are properly met.
  • must be able to apply common sense, take self-initiative appropriately and seek help / supervision when necessary.
  • must be able to use MS Office programmes (in particular, Word, Excel, Outlook) effectively and efficiently.

Preferable

It would be an advantage, if the applicant:

  • has a following of clients.
  • speaks an additional language, in addition to English.
  • possesses detailed knowledge and experience in any or all of the following fields of Immigration and Nationality law (The fields with an “*” would provide a greater advantage):
    • Turkish ECAA / Ankara Agreement applications.
    • Sponsor Licence applications*.
    • Points-Based System applications*.
    • Applications to Endorsing Bodies*.
    • Family Immigration applications.
    • EU Settlement Scheme.
    • British Citizenship Applications.
    • Immigration Administrative Review applications.
    • Immigration Appeals.
    • Immigration Judicial Review applications.
  • is qualified as a solicitor with PQE of 3 years or more.
  • has SRA accreditation as a Senior Immigration Caseworker.
  • demonstrates a strong ability to use technology in providing legal services and marketing.
  • has experience of using LEAP Case Management system.
  • possesses experience of office management, compliance and business development.
  • possesses experience and an understanding of human resources and relevant procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Immigration Areas to Cover

The right candidate will advise and represent clients in the following Immigration and Nationality applications (you do not have to have prior experience in all of the matters below):

  • Turkish ECAA Applications: Self-employed Businesspersons and Employed Turkish Workers.
  • Sponsor Licence Applications: Sponsor Licence applications by businesses seeking to employ foreign nationals and by schools seeking to sponsor foreign students.
  • Points-Based System Applications: Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Global Talent, Innovator Founder, Tier 4 Student visas, etc.
  • Applications to Endorsing Bodies: Innovator Founder, Global Talent.
  • Family Immigration Applications: Spouse, Civil Partner, Fiancé(e), Dependent Children, Dependent Adult Relatives, etc.
  • EU Settlement Scheme: Pre-settled Status and Settled Status applications.
  • British Citizenship Applications: Naturalisation and Registration applications.
  • Immigration Administrative Review Applications.
  • Immigration Appeals.
  • Immigration Judicial Review Applications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • To take instructions and provide legally sound and accurate advice to clients on all aspects of Immigration and Nationality Law (including the requirements of the Immigration Rules, relevant processes and procedures) face-to-face, on the telephone or by way of videoconferencing.
  • To prepare and provide client care documents.
  • To assist clients with the preparation of immigration applications by advising them regarding the information and documents needed, checking the supporting documents provided, completing relevant applications forms, etc.
  • To draft representations, witness statements, Grounds for Administrative Review, Grounds for Judicial Review and the like in appropriate cases.
  • To acquire and maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the UK Immigration and Nationality Law.
  • To undertake legal research in order to provide correct and accurate advice as well as effective representation in complex applications.
  • To liaise with other professionals such as barristers, translators, Home Office officials, etc. on behalf of the client.
  • To keep clients informed and updated in relation to the progress of their matters.
  • To provide support to other members of staff, especially to the junior staff.
  • To keep records for regulatory compliance purposes.
  • To implement feedback and recommendations from senior members of staff and supervisors.
  • To maintain integrity and be fully compliant with all professional and ethical rules (including the SRA Rules) in all your dealings in the course of your employment.
  • To undertake and complete other tasks incidental to provision of legal services to clients and working for a firm of solicitors.


Desired Activities

  • To assist brand building and marketing of the Firm and its services.
  • To contribute to the Firm’s website and publications by writing articles and creating videos relevant to the Firm’s service areas.

SALARY

A fair and reasonable salary will be agreed based on experience. We are also open to a fee-sharing arrangement.
